Please note this cover plate can only be installed over a Duplex outlet as it will not be able to mount onto a pre-existing Decorator outlet. The only way to fasten this cover plate is the middle mounting hole which will mount onto the center of a duplex outlet. This plate is designed to convert the appearance of a duplex outlet into a decorator style appearance.
