8-wire protection for use with RS-232 network devices only (RJ45 jacks) - typical RS-232 devices include bar code scanners, measuring tools, laboratory instruments, and factory machines that need to connect to a PC via an RS232 port
18V DC operating voltage
27V DC clamping voltage
Provide protection against transient voltage surge in a facility's communication line
Uses 120V AC line receptacle as a common ground (the device is only using the grounding leg of the outlet)
